With more than 30 years of financial sales, SBA lending and management experience, Rosa Scharf has been committed to Small Businesses in the community. With the support of M&T Bank, Rosa is focused on increasing lending to minority and women owned businesses in Baltimore. Throughout her career, Rosa has remained a supportive member of her community. Last year, she spoke at Junior Achievement of Central Maryland’s annual Leading Ladies event, where she encouraged young female students in the greater Baltimore area to be prepare with confidence for their future careers.
For the past two years, she has been a board member of the Meals on Wheels Foundation of Central Maryland, and the Maryland Commercial Lender’s Association. She has also served as Commissioner of the Governor’s Commissioner of Service and Volunteerism, the St. Agnes Hospital Foundation, and the Boy Scouts of Central Maryland.
For her diligent work ethic, and commitment to community service, Rosa has been honored with awards across multiple organizations.
In 2007, the Howard County Economic Development Center presented Rosa with the Individual Achievement Award. The following year, she received the United States Small Business Administration Financial Services Champion Award.
For two years, she was named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record. In 2015, she received the Individual Achievement Award from the Maryland Banker’s Association, and went on to win their Champion for Women Award this year.
